Cowgirl Wisdom

And I'm sure they understood her and talked right back!

My mornings sound like this as I walk out to the barn...

"Hi guys! How's everyone doing today?" (Hrrr hrrrr... nicker, nicker)

"OK old guy, hang on, you act like you've never eaten before" (Hrrr hrrr hrrr)

"Hi goaty, goaty, goaties". (mmmeeehh eh eh)

"Hello Sassy, Sassy, Sassy"

"Bandy Boy, waitin' for your chow?"

"Pipey Brown! You're turning into a big girl"

And on and on and on.... I'm sure the neighbors think I'm the crazy animal lady. But that's quite alright. I'll never be lonely!

I talk to my goats and my dogs every day and I think they look forward to it.

Mine goes something like this...

(To the dogs): "Get up, shake your lazy butt, procrastination across the nation just won't work!" (in a sing-song voice...it's from a local radio station). Then..."Who's hungry?" That wakes 'em for sure!

(To the horse): "Hi buddy! Oh, hi-iiiii" (sappy voice). Nicker, nicker..."Oh, I know (cooing). Here ya go buddy. Ok, see ya after work!"

(To the cat who has accompanied me to the barn): "C'mon Looney Tunes!" (nickname for Lunar...started with Looney for short, evolved to Looney Tunes...sometimes just Tunes). He then runs (races me) back to the garage to get fed.

Then, it all starts over in the evening! I just love my animal companions! I think it's the people who DON'T talk to their animals that might be a little off! ;)

You arent the only one. I sing songs to my bunnies and make up songs too. I talk to the birds in the yard and my neighbors probably think I'm nuts. They make a great audience.

I have always wondered what my neighbors must think about me over here. The way I talk to my animals, or the goat wrestling that goes on, or horse wrestling. Sometimes I think they stand out in the woods on the property line and watch and laugh at me! Or maybe they don't hear me at all!

I talk to my critters a lot. When I was taking riding lessons in high school I'd practice my French by talking to my lesson horse. lol

That's so funny. I keep up a constant banter with the horses & barn cat when I'm there. I'll talk to the horses when I'm bringing them in from the fields too and if anyone is acting up I'll tell them they're freaking me out. It seems to calm my nerves anyway...I'm sure everyone else thinks I'm nuts.

Some of my best conversations happen in the barn!
