A Sneak Peak

Art in the Park (in Artesia, N.M.) is a little over a week away. I've been madly creating new things for my booth. Here are a few of my new Cowgirl Wristlets (created from recycled cowboy boot tops). I have one that I use for my camera, it's a perfect fit. You can also use them to hold your cell phone or money/car keys when you are just running up to the store... I bet you can think of other uses -- just because they are so cute!

And here are a few new Cowgirl Cuffs created with these very cool anodized aluminum conchos I found in bright colors:

Our Great Green Globe Blog

I received an e-mail yesterday that I had been featured on this blog. The blog author, Teri, does a daily spotlight on a small artist or business that is doing something little to impact the world, in particular using recycled or sustainable materials in their designs. She saw my cowgirl wristlets and bags on my Etsy site and decided to feature them in her blog. Very cool! If Only They Could Talk

I sometimes wonder what the stories are behind the boots I use to make my cowgirl wristlets. Some are obviously more used and worn than others and have seen many miles. Maybe they have ridden the range chasing wild cattle? Others look well cared for and barely worn. Perhaps they were someone's "dress" boots and were only used to dance the occasional two-step on Saturday nights? Who knows. But, it is kind of fun to think about.

Here is a pile of wristlets in the making. So far my little cowgirl wristlets have gone on to new homes in New Hampshire, Kansas, Texas and several to New York. I hope everyone who purchased them is enjoying them ... and maybe thinking up their own stories of where these boots have been.
