Old Guys on the Loose - Part II

A view from the front courtyard of Bandit and Phoenix wandering around the property on Sunday afternoon. They were eating the dried mesquite beans under this tree -- a tasty treat.
Bandit looks like he is lost in thought, contemplating all things horse. That or taking a nap in the warm afternoon sun.
Nope, just giving himself a good butt scratching! Being the old ranch horse that he is, he will find just about anything to scratch on -- tree branch, fence post, hitching post, you name it, if it's butt height, he'll back up to it and start scratching.
Animals really do have a knack for showing us how to appreciate the little things!

Love them...and it's true, they do. My horse loves to walk over bushes so they will scratch his belly! :D

I love old boys like them :). Is it just an optical illusion or does the horse with the blaze have a strange shaped face? I still think he's beautiful anyway :)

The old guys look great! How handy your trees are. Midnight and our two donkey girls search out scratching places too. One of their favorite spots is the bunny yard fence line. Must be the type of construction the fence is that offers a good butt scratch. Although the view from my side of the bunny fence is less than attractive, it's always good for a laugh.

Ahhhh, that sure does feel good! A boys gotta do what a boys gotta do!

Amen to that. If it's itchy, you must scratch it. Mesquite beans huh? That's a new one for me.

To funny...they do make a scrathing post for horses now! Kinda like those cat scratching posts! Bet Santa could bring him one! LOL

Bandit reminds me of my Paint Fritzy, back that butt up and rub away! She always has to rub her tail on her grain bucket, which causes her tail to get stuck in it, then rips her tail hair out!
Looks like the horses were really enjoying themselves, I do have to say I am so jealous of your sunny weather! I haven't seen the sun since September! At least not a warm, sunny day!
