Oh How Time Flies!

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I brought little Piper home. She will be 2 in May. Amazing how much growing they do in a year!

This picture was taken last June... This one was taken the other day...Where did that big horse come from??? She is as tall as Sassy now! (Not that Sassy is "tall", she's right at 14 hands) But still... According to my measurements, she will top out around 15 hh, which is just right for me.

And she has lots of filling out left to do. I put the weight tape on her the other day and she is about 735 lbs. She was 525 lbs when I brought her home... SO LITTLE!

Another pic from last June...

And another from just the other day...Hopefully by this time next year I'll be riding her. We've got lots of work to do before then, though. I'll be posting pics of us riding the trail before I know it!

My Lyle turns 8 tomorrow and I remember him popping out of his mom like it was yesterday. In my eyes, he will never be a grown-up horse...despite his 15.1 hands and 1,003 pounds.

Just wanted to say hi. I am also a horse owner/lover and also make jewelry, and also part of the WHOA team! You creations are beautiful as well as your horses.

That's amazing! They both are beautiful. I'm seeing a trip to AZ in my future. Time does fly....

Hi! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a warm comment on my recent post. I so badly wanted to foster a couple of horses or rescue a couple of donkeys when I first moved here, but it never has worked out. I have a friend in VA who has horses and know how much time and money they are and admire anybody who takes good care of them. They are one of the most gorgeous creatures on this planet.

Little Piper sure has grown under the love and nurturing you have given her. She's a happy girl :)

Thank you for all you do for the animals!!

You are so lucky to get her at a young age because you will help shape her personality!!!

She's a beauty. They grow as fast or faster than our kids. Congratulations and hope you get to start working with her soon so you can ride her soon.
