Do you ever take a look around your house and feel like you just need to add something new here and there? Or things have gotten just a little "too" worn in? I've been meaning to replace the throw pillows on the sofa for some time now...stuffing sticking out here and there.... they were a mess and time for them to go. So, I went shopping (on Etsy, of course) and found this great handmade leather pillow from Thunder Moon Designs ~I love the tooled leather on the star and corners. I bought just the pillow cover and used my own pillow form (didn't want to throw out the ENTIRE old pillow!)

Ellen, the seamstress behind Thunder Moon Designs, also makes these great leather wall hangings. I really dig these.

Ellen's pillows are really beautiful and the quality is top notch. She has many more designs in her Etsy shop. If you see something you like but want it in another color she will gladly custom sew something just for you.

Buying something from a real live person is so much better than ordering from a catalog!

New Creations

The Tucson Gem Show was in town last week, so I headed on over for some new goodies. Wow, there are so many vendors with everything you can imagine. I wanted to find some really nice turquoise and I wasn't disappointed. I found a vendor that only sold turquoise -- Kingman mine, Sleeping Beauty mine and some from the Campo Frio mine in Mexico. I left there with quite a stash, but now I wish I had bought more!

I also found a local artist selling her handmade copper pendants, charms and other findings. I really fell in love with the style of these, so I scooped up a whole variety of things. Combining the copper with the turquoise was a no-brainer. Check out some of my creations from my new "Copper Collection":

Every cowgirl has a loyal dog at her side. How about a bracelet with copper dog bones and a little copper heart mixed with turquoise?This square copper star pendant reminds me of a concho. I mixed Swarovski pearls in with the turquoise...
The turquoise in these earrings is from the Kingman mine in northern Arizona. These earrings would be great for a night out on the town!

I'm working on some other pieces for this collection with stones other than turquoise. I hope to have them done this weekend. All of the jewelry shown here can be found (and purchased!) in my Etsy shop.

New Cowgirl Cuffs

Yesterday I spent some time creating some new cuffs for my Cowgirl Cuff Collection...

I think my favorite one out of this bunch is the turquoise cross cuff (you can't really tell from this pic, but it has 3 crosses on it). I can't make these fast enough! I'll be listing these in my Etsy shop throughout the day today. Get 'em while they're hot cowgirls!

Cool Handmade Books!

Here is a really neat gift idea for that hard to buy for person on your list -- how about a handmade journal? Puppy Love

I created this bracelet this weekend for all the dog lovers out there. I love the cute little puppy link! It was handcrafted by another Etsy artisan.



It reminds me of Snuffy as a puppy. He's definitely not a puppy anypmore (at least not in size, be he still acts like one!) Here he is in his pool:
