50 Ability Marathons

My brother, Grant, and two of his friends, Aaron and Paul, are on an amazing journey this year.  50 marathons in 50 states in 50 weeks.  Pretty ambitious goal, to be sure.  Add the fact that all three guys are in wheelchairs and the word ambitious doesn't even begin to describe it.  Crazy, insane, out-of-control...yeah.  But mostly, inspiring and motivating!
(Grant, in the middle of the pack)

These athletes have taken on this monumental challenge to raise funds for The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis.  They are also taking time on their race trips to visit local rehabilitation centers and talk to the staff and patients to educate and motivate them about wheelchair sports and the physical and mental benefits associated with them.

This team of 3 road warriors is looking for sponsors to assist them with the necessary funds to complete their 50 state tour this year.  They have been getting a lot of press from local radio, TV and newspapers at each race they have been to so far.  Visit their Facebook page to see some of the video clips, photos and articles from the various races and please contact them if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.

(Paul, Aaron, and Grant)

Please also check out the 50 Ability Marathons website to read more about their personal stories, race schedule, (coming soon to a city near you!) and how you can help by donating to support their goal of 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 weeks.

Go guys... YOU CAN DO IT!

That is so inspiring..... :0)Love the new look of the blog, trying to get mine freshened up a little ! On a another note: please help spread the word to help stop horse slaughter. There is a bill in congress right now, we need many voices. Check my blog or go to Oklahomans Against Horse Slaughter 2012 and Beyond on Facebook and READ the posts, sign the Popvox vote, Congress will refer to that. Share with everyone you know who cares. Thank you !
