Cowgirl Wisdom

It's very easy to fall into a rut doing the same ol' things. There's nothing wrong with being comfortable with your life and sticking to what you do best, but it's also good to branch out and try new things. This year, something I'd really like to learn is metalsmithing. I'm looking into taking a class at the local Community College. I want to be able to create some of my own original designs for my jewelry. It's time to learn something new.

What do you want to learn this year to make yourself smarter???

Right now I am trying to figure out knitting. I have knitting stitch figured out but I think I am doing something wrong with purling. Gotta work on that some more. Also I am going to learn how to drive my horse. She is currently being trained to drive so now I need to learn how!

That sounds like fun! And the best thing is, you *have* to motivate yourself to do it now because you've just told umpteen people who read your blog about it :P.

This year I started working in 3D rather than lens-based media and I'm having so much fun being out of my comfort zone. I have my first exhibition next week for my foundation degree and the work is not even in the medium I've been using for the last two years so I'll be interested to see how it's received. :)
