I was going through my blog archives and found something I posted more than 3 years ago (wow, I've been at this blog thing for a LONG time!). It's been so long, I'd forgotten about it. It's great advice and bears re-posting, so here ya go ~ enjoy!
1. Sometimes you have to buck the norms to pursue your dreams
2. Adventure and Excitement Beat Housework
3. Be tough, but revel in your femininity
4. When life throws you to the ground, get back on the horse
5. Don’t let others belittle your achievements
6. Accept the nature of things
7. Work hard and look after other cowpokes
8. Never steal another cowgirl’s horse or thunder
9. Attack life like it’s a 1000 pound steer
10. Act on your beliefs rather than protesting for them
11. Use common sense, if you don’t, the cattle will knock it into you
12. Let the land rejuvenate your soul
13. Walk beside your pardner, not in front
14. When cow poking doesn’t pay, be resourceful
15. Embrace urban cowgirls
Happy Friday Cowgirls! (If you are in the Tucson area, don't forget the Sonoita rodeo is going on this weekend ~ I'm holding my trunk show at the Sonoita Inn. Please stop by and visit!)

Rottweiler Wednesday, a day late
OK, so it's Thursday and not Wednesday... who cares as long as we're talking rotties!?! First off, I wanted to share this pic of Boots with her new little buddy, Zayn:
I LOVE this shot! Zayn stayed with us last weekend while his mom and dad were out of town. He's only 14 weeks old and pure puppy. Boots had such a great time with him and was the best babysitter ever. I'd almost forgotten how much fun puppies are!
Next, and more importantly today, I'm helping promote a fundraiser for Rottweiler Hearts Rescue (RHR) in Durham, North Carolina. My very good friend Brett, (mom to Boots' rottie cousins, Xena and Lord) volunteers for this group and is helping put this fundraiser together. I'm donating these little copper paw print and lapis earrings for the raffle:
If you'd like to help you can do so by purchasing raffle tickets or by donating something for the raffle. I know animal causes are near and dear to a lot of my artist friend's hearts out there... hint, hint :) Please check out all the details here. (you can contact Brett directly for tickets or donations, her number is listed on the flyer on the link, and tell her I sent ya!).
RHR also has a facebook page...please go LIKE them and share their post about the fundraiser. Boots thanks you from the bottom of her rottweiler heart. :)

Bunny Sunday
Tiger and Wrigley are visiting and have been here for a week or so. I like to think they consider this their second home. Looking pretty comfy Tiger!
(Sorry for the grainy pic...tried to zoom in on him to get the full effect). This little guy was crashed out hard. So sweet, napping in a ray of sunlight...
Happy Bunny Sunday everyone!

Rottweiler Wednesday
When was the last time you saw one of those old photobooths? Well, now "there's an app for that".... (Pocketbooth)
Boots and Snuffy crammed themselves into the photobooth in our truck the other day:
Snuffy was apparently bored by the whole experience!
Happy Rottie Wednesday!

Bunny Sunday
Today Daisy and Turbo had a "meet and greet" out in the courtyard. It makes me sad that Daisy doesn't have a buddy to snuggle up with and I thought since Turbo is the littlest of the other five buns and the lowest in the pecking order, that she would be open to making friends with Daisy.
It looked promising...
at first...
But then Turbo started chasing her and grunting and even took a little tuft of fur off Daisy's butt.
She looks so sweet and innocent... little booger!
Poor Daisy, she just didn't understand why Turbo didn't want to be her friend. :(
We'll try again another day. I'm thinking maybe another bun, either Digger or Ginger. Keep your fingers crossed!
Happy Bunny Sunday to you all!

Birthday Bunny Sunday
The Fab Five turned 5 years old yesterday! And it seems like just yesterday that they were this small: (this pic was taken when they were 6 days old and didn't even have their eyes open yet).
Many of you who have followed my blog for awhile know that these 5 were a "surprise!" to me...I rescued their mama and 2 weeks later she had these 5 little babies. I'm so glad we decided not to find homes for them but rather kept them all together as a little family. They have brought us a lot of joy over the last 5 years.
SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! 2 weeks old :)
One year olds around the breakfast table:
2 year olds lounging in the outdoor bunny casa:
Three year olds munching on fresh carrots from the garden (they prefer organic veggies grown by their mom, thank you very much)
4 year olds all snuggled up together. They really do love each other!
And here are the 5 year old birthday bunnies yesterday while playing in the courtyard outside my studio. I scattered parsley all over and they had a parsley hunt. :) Happy Birthday guys!
Have a great week everyone!
XOXO, Sandie, Digger, Ginger, Bully and Turbo
