Rottweiler Wednesday

Rosie and Boots have become pretty good friends.  Well, maybe friends is not quite the right term...
Sparring partners might be a better term...
Rosie is being a good kitty, though, and not using her claws at all.  She just gives Boots 3-4 good bops on the nose with her paw.
Boots gets a really puzzled look on her face like, "what just happened?"
Then she throws in the towel and gives up.

Rosie:  "I win again".

Attack of the Killer Tumbleweed

We had some really strong winds the other day.  This monstrosity of a tumbleweed  took up residence on the side of our road: (might not look that big here, but....)
Check this beast out!  Literally, taller than me.
I couldn't resist getting a picture with it.  Lee thought I was a little crazy, but he obliged.  I've never seen one this big.
I just know there's a good scary movie plot waiting here.... kinda like "The Blob", only not as slimy...
I hope I don't wake up tomorrow and find this thing in my front yard!

Bunny Sunday

Sandie Meets a New Friend:

"Hi, what's your name?"
"Mind if I share some of your rose bush?"
The bunnies had some outside time in the front courtyard the other day.  They all ran around in the sun, binkying and exploring every nook and cranny.  Sandie discovered my mini-rosebush and "Buns of Steel".  My brother gave me this bunny for Christmas last year (kinda reminds me of my Nutmeg).  The rosebush was a gift from my friend last summer after we lost Angel.  So, both are pretty special.  Of all my plants, this rosebush is the only one on the patio that made it through the winter and already has lots of new growth.  Yellow roses soon... :)

Happy Bunny Sunday!

Rottweiler Wednesday

Boots is now almost 3 months old and weighing in at 18.5 lbs. as of this morning.  She's nearly tripled her size since we brought her home.  Amazing!
My new nickname for her is Baby Tazmanian Devil.  She is sleeping less and playing (and chewing) more.  Wow.  The house looks like a bomb went off with all of her toys strewn about.

One of her favorite things to bat around the house is a pinecone.  She can't really get it in her mouth and so she just pushes it around the floor and chases after it.  I tried to get a little video clip of her playing with one on the front patio, but she wasn't cooperating.  She was more interested in the camera:

One of these days I'll actually post something besides bunnies and rottweilers!  But, for now, my hands are kinda full.  :)

Bunny Sunday

There's just something about a bunny grooming itself that is SO DARN CUTE:

And little Turbo is no exception:
In fact, I think she wrote the book on it.
"The line forms to the left for autographs.  Thank you."

Rottweiler Wednesday --- and a winner!

Since it is Rottie Wednesday, I had Boots help pick the winner of the Bunny Sunday giveaway...
And yes, it was very slobbery...
Congrats to Dreaming!  I'll contact you for your mailing address and have Sue send your note cards directly to you.

Bootsie went to the vet on Monday for her second set of shots.  She was a huge hit again with everyone there.  And she loved every minute of it.  Little attention hound!
In 3 weeks time she went from 7.15 lbs. to 15.7!!  She is growing like a weed.  I swear I can see her growing right before my eyes.  Soon, we won't be able to pick her up anymore.  :(   The good news is, the vet said she is very healthy and "obviously" eating well.  Ha ha.

Wow, I forgot how much puppies like to chew, though!  On your feet, on the furniture, on the baseboards, on the bunnies (just kidding!).  Boots now has quite the collection of approved things she can chew on and play with.  Currently on the floor of our house we have: 2 small stuffed animals, 1 old sock tied in a knot, 2 rawhide chews in various stages of destruction, 1 flying duck crinkly cat toy (no longer Rosie's property), 1 squeaky hedgehog toy, 1 puppy sized Kong chew toy and the wooden handle off the "toy basket".

Out in the front courtyard/porch we have 1 large stick, another old sock, a small stuffed Snoopy, a Buster Cube and 1 large rawhide chew.

And an empty crunched up water bottle:
Cute-o-meter: over the top.

Bunny Sunday

Thinking of Nutmeg and Patches this morning...
They were so sweet together, best buddies.

My artist friend, Sue Andre, drew a colored pencil drawing for me of them.  It's an ACEO sized little work of art that sits on my easel at my work bench.  I LOVE this.
Sue offers this drawing of Nutty and Patchy in her Etsy shop as a notecard.  She also has lots of other bunnies, including her very own bunny, Clovis.  Check out her shop, I know you'll find something you MUST have!

In fact, I'm going to do a little giveaway for 3 of her notecards (this one of Nutmeg/Patches and 2 others of your choice).  Just go to Sue's Etsy shop and choose the 2 others you would like to have and leave me a comment.  I'll pick a winner on Wednesday, March 16th and have those cards send to you.  Easy as that...

Happy Bunny Sunday everyone!

Rottweiler Wednesday

The bunnies don't appreciate sharing their Sunday with "that new thing", so Boots will officially have her own day... "Rottweiler Wednesday".

And boy, do I have some pics to share with you!  This little girl just gets cuter (and bigger) everyday.  She has doubled in size in the 3 weeks we have had her and now weighs a whopping 12 lbs!  (Look at that little piglet belly)
My little bear cub:

She learned quickly how to work it for the camera...
We're in big trouble....   :)
