Bunny Sunday
Looking back at my "Silent Sunday" posts, seems like a lot of them have been of the bunnies, so I'm changing my Sunday posts to "Bunny Sundays"! They are always popular...who doesn't love a cute cuddly bunny?
After roaming around the garden for awhile, it's time to find a nice cool place to rest.
Nutmeg is the little explorer. And hole digger. I can hear her wheels turning, "How do I get behind that fencing???" 
Sometimes we let Patches and Nutmeg run around in the garden. Patches found the strawberries and jumped right in. Bunnies LOVE strawberries, and they love the plants, too.

I have to admit, a large part of my garden is dedicated to growing things just for the bunnies. They prefer their veggies to be organic, thank you very much.

What happens when a cowgirl from Arizona meets a cowgirl from Maine on the creative trail? They join forces! That's just what cowgirls do. Bridget from Heart of a Cowgirl and Marjorie from Cowgirl Goods have merged their talents to create beautiful wearable art.
How did this all happen? Well it started with a cookbook, The Cowgirl Cookbook by Jill Charlotte Stanford. Bridget and Marjorie both loved it and blogged about it. Jill then told each of them about the other. Talk about networking because these cowgirls couldn't live any further apart: Arizona, Maine and Oregon. But thanks to the world of blogging and knowing where your peeps are they have found a camp to pull in to and share their cowgirl spirits and talents.
Heart of a Cowgirl creates cowgirl jewelry with a rustic flair and Cowgirl Goods whips up funky cowgirl aprons. When you put them together you get GOOD HEARTED COWGIRLS blazing new trails!

Cowgirl Greetings and a Giveaway
As much as I love e-mail and blogging, I do have a thing for putting pen to paper. When I was a kid, I had a dozen penpals and couldn't wait to go to the mailbox and see if there was a letter from someone. Better yet, a card!
When I go to a gift shop, I'm always drawn to the card section, looking for cards with great cowgirl or western images. I always have a stash on hand for different occasions. Sometimes I love the pics so much I just keep them for myself!
Recently I came across a company called Shadow West and it's owner, Ed Delegato. He was kind enough to send me some samples of their products. The images are right up my alley ~ cowgirls and horses (among others) and have great inspiring messages.
They also carry art prints, magnets, bookmarks and stationary. This framed print of two little cowgirls is really cute. "The Only Way to Have a Friend is to Be One"
I love when I come across cool finds on other blogs, so I thought I'd share with you on mine. So, here's the deal. Pink Bunny Ears
Surprise! You thought this post was going to be about bunnies, didn't you?
Actually, it's about something much less cute and cuddly.... I'm talking about FLIES. Yep, the flies have arrived. In full force. Yuck.
We do what we can: keep the stalls cleaned, use fly spray on the horses, put out fly traps and, of course, put fly masks on every day.
Piper recently outgrew her "baby" yearling mask. So now she is wearing a big horse size. It seemed that from one day to the next it just didn't fit her anymore.
We start putting Sassy's mask on even before the flies start showing up. She has has blue eyes and pink skin around one of them, so it serves as sun protection as well.
Bandit is an old ranch horse and probably couldn't care less about the flies, but it makes us feel better!
And here is where the pink bunny ears come in...
Yes, I know -- it is ridiculous! Not only the pink ears, but the whole get-up. And Phoenix couldn't agree more. BUT, he was rubbing his face right where the fleece is at on the other masks and had managed to rub all of the hair off right down to his skin. He's an old guy, and I didn't want him to rub off his skin (visions of vet bills), so I went searching for a mask with a long nose piece. This is the only one I could find. (If you think your horse is just dying to have this fashion accessory, you can find it online at Valley Vet.)
As silly as he looks, it's working, and his hair is slowly starting to grow back. The things we do for our animals! (Looks like he is saying in this pic, "The things I do for YOU")

New Goat House
Rather than spend all day on Saturday building a new house for Valentine and Gerty, I found a used shed for sale on Craigslist (and for a fraction of what the materials would have cost us to build one ourselves).
Not the most attractive looking thing...
But a coat of paint does wonders! I had red paint left over from painting the chicken coop and bunny casa (wouldn't want our animals' houses not to match...)
We did have to reinforce the house with plywood on the inside "just in case" you-know-who decided to test the walls out...
So far, the house is still standing. Hopefully, it will stay that way. You never know, though, she looks like she is plotting away.

Demolition Goat
We had a nice little house for our goats, which was actually a very large Rubber-Maid type storage shed. It came in pieces and went together pretty easily. It worked out great for Valentine and Gerty and gave them plenty of room to lie down and get out of the elements.
Apparently, it also comes apart too easily....

Meet Demolition Goat...also known as Valentine.(Who? Me?) She looks innocent enough, but looks can be deceiving....
She has knocked down their house countless times. She head butts it, gets inside and pushes up on the roof until the whole thing comes apart and tumbles down around her. Then she stands there in the middle of the rubble looking surprised. "Hey, what happened?" So, we would put it back together, only to have her do it again the next week. Or the next day. It's a little game we play. But, we're tired of the game, so this weekend we are building a new house.
We might need steel posts sunk in concrete in order to win against this crazy goat!

Ranch Home Decor
Do you ever take a look around your house and feel like you just need to add something new here and there? Or things have gotten just a little "too" worn in? I've been meaning to replace the throw pillows on the sofa for some time now...stuffing sticking out here and there.... they were a mess and time for them to go. So, I went shopping (on Etsy, of course) and found this great handmade leather pillow from Thunder Moon Designs ~
I love the tooled leather on the star and corners. I bought just the pillow cover and used my own pillow form (didn't want to throw out the ENTIRE old pillow!)
Ellen, the seamstress behind Thunder Moon Designs, also makes these great leather wall hangings. I really dig these.
I almost bought this pair of pillows, too. Cute!
How about an ostrich longhorn?
