Happy Birthday Bunnies!
Our little band o' bunnies turned 6 years old on August 4th. Hard to believe they ever were this small:
And to celebrate their birthday, I bought them a special surprise --- a bunny fort!
This way, they can spend some time outdoors when the weather is nice and I don't have to worry about them being out in the open. I put this in the courtyard outside my studio and I can look out the window and see them while I'm working at my bench. :)
They had fun running in and out and eventually they all flopped inside (even though the door was still open).
Even Bully approved!
Digger and Sandie thought the willow chair was much more interesting, though.

Turbo gave the bunny-diva seal of approval (and seized the opportunity to look adorable, as always)
"They don't call me the bunny supermodel for nothing."
And last, but not least, Ginger. He was more interested in the treats than the fort.
It has been another great year for this little family of bunnies. Everyone is happy and healthy and well loved. As it should be!
Till next time ---
XOXO, Sandie, Digger, Ginger, Bully & Turbo

50 Ability Marathons
My brother, Grant, and two of his friends, Aaron and Paul, are on an amazing journey this year. 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 weeks. Pretty ambitious goal, to be sure. Add the fact that all three guys are in wheelchairs and the word ambitious doesn't even begin to describe it. Crazy, insane, out-of-control...yeah. But mostly, inspiring and motivating!
(Grant, in the middle of the pack)
These athletes have taken on this monumental challenge to raise funds for The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation which is dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis. They are also taking time on their race trips to visit local rehabilitation centers and talk to the staff and patients to educate and motivate them about wheelchair sports and the physical and mental benefits associated with them.
This team of 3 road warriors is looking for sponsors to assist them with the necessary funds to complete their 50 state tour this year. They have been getting a lot of press from local radio, TV and newspapers at each race they have been to so far. Visit their Facebook page to see some of the video clips, photos and articles from the various races and please contact them if you are interested in becoming a sponsor.
(Paul, Aaron, and Grant)
Please also check out the 50 Ability Marathons website to read more about their personal stories, race schedule, (coming soon to a city near you!) and how you can help by donating to support their goal of 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 weeks.
Go guys... YOU CAN DO IT!

Bunny Sunday... Maybe, Just Maybe....
Daisy and Ginger have been having some play time together lately. Initially I thought Turbo would be a good fit for a buddy for Daisy since she is the smallest and lowest on the totem pole of the bunny bunch. Wrong. Seems she has a chip on her little bunny shoulder and figured she would be the boss of Daisy, since she can't be the boss of anyone else! She ran poor Daisy around and pulled tufts of fur out of her butt. Bad Turby.
Ginger is the "middle" bun. (He's a boy bun with a girl bun name...just don't tell him that.) Sandie and Digger are the 2 other boys, with Sandie being the patriarch of the bunch. Digger seems to be second in command. Bully and Turbo are the 2 girls. Bully definitely lives up to her name and tries to be the boss of everyone. She wants NOTHING to do with another girl bun, so I knew she was out of the running to be Daisy's friend.
Daisy presented herself to Ginger to be groomed, but he wasn't all that interested one way or the other. He spent most of their time together eating any stray pellets he could find left over from Daisy's breakfast. But there was no grunting or chasing going on, so I thought that was a good sign.
Until he did this! And even then, there was no fighting going on. Daisy was content to let him be the boss. She really just wants a friend. But, I finally had to intercede because I thought Ginger was going to squish her!
For now, I'm happy that I can put the two of them together for short visits. It's good to see Daisy interacting with another bunny. Keep your fingers crossed for more progress!
Happy Bunny Sunday to all.

Bunny Sunday
Hello bunny lovers! I have some great pics to share of Daisy and a possible friend for her, however, Blogger is not allowing me to upload pics from my computer? For the past few months, I've had sporadic ability to do so but now it is not even giving me the option of uploading pics from my computer (thus my lack of posts). Anyone out there having similar issues? I've googled it to find a fix, but no luck thus far. HELP!
It does allow me to upload pics from my previous blog posts, however. Thanks blogger, but I'd like to post something NEW. Anyway, here's one of my favorites of Nutmeg posted several Easters ago...still makes me laugh! She, however, was not amused.
Happy Bunny Sunday :)

Happy New Year/Rottweiler Wednesday
Happy 2013 everyone! I hope your new year is getting off to a great start.
We are not sure of Boots' exact birthday, but it is somewhere around the first of the year, so she is now 2 years old! Time sure flies. I was going through pics of her puppy days...so dang cute! This one was taken at Patagonia Lake when she was about 5 months old, before she figured out she could swim. Now we can't keep her out of the water.

We've been having our share of cold, winter weather. We even had a little bit of snow over the weekend. So this picture gave me the warm fuzzies...a beautiful, sunny day at the lake in May. Something to look forward to!
Happiest of New Years to you!
XOXO,
Bridget and Boots
